Here is a jist of the story!

This is a tale of the rise and atrophy of Scalawag's most notorious illusionist. A man of the dark arts, a master illusionist. Some say that he was born as a descendant of the ancient witches of Pendle. Others say that he is merely a troubled man born into a cliche'd abusive family. Ignus Whittle was the man behind the illusion. The reason families refuse to allow their children to play in the open after sunset. The man who planted fear and terror into the the soul of the citizens of Scalawag.

Ignis Whittle was born Angus Whittle. Why did he change his name to Ignis comes later on in our tale. Angus was a normal boy throughout most of his childhood years except for the fact that he was adopted into a family of a different race compared to his friends. He was kind, top of the class and always compliant to his parents or teachers orders. He was extremely close to his parents and never once doubted their love for him. He was however very much intrigued by magic since young.

However, everything changed for Angus at the age of 15. His parents were killed in front of his eyes by a masked man. In ancient folklore, only magicians or illusionist wear masks. Out of grieve and anger, Angus managed to track down this masked killer, and to find out that he was a poverty-stricken man with a family to support. He saw the happiness in that little family's eyes, but fury and grief had struck his heart deeper than the depths of hell. He told himself that if he couldn't have a happy family, then nobody can.

Angus began relying on the only thing he believed he was good at. Illusions. It became his weapon. Eventually Angus changed his name to Ignis. the "I" in Ignis represented the "I" in illusion. And also because "ignis" means illusion. He became a school drop out, and isolated himself from society. It took him years to master his skill of deception. And every year, the monster in him grew, while little Angus Whittle diminished away slowly.

When the time came where he felt prepared, he knew that in order for him to create something as big as this, a belief that he felt was right and something that people too could see it as just…would need followers. Ignis was prepared to start a cult, and he knew exactly how he could gain followers. Magic.

Ignus started to come out of the shadows and he did many magic shows in order to attract people's attention. His signature look was to always have his face masked, just like a magician's. Weeks passed, he gained fans. Months passed and he gained believers. Eventually, he had an army of illusion-worshipping disciples. I was one of them.
